MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 10, 2009 MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF POQUOTT HELD AT 7:00 P.M. AT VILLAGE HALL
Present was Mayor Barbara Donovan, Trustees Christine Vitkun, Carol Lane and Kathleen Matthews. Also present was Peter Sverd Village Attorney and 3 residents. Excused was Sandy Nicolletti.
A motion was made by K. Matthews seconded by C. Lane to pay bills totaling $19, 492.55 and $924.60. Aye K. Matthews, C. Lane, C. Vitkun and B. Donovan. Nay 0.
A motion was made by C. Lane seconded by C. Vitkun to appoint Ronald Lavita as Acting Justice. Aye C. Lane, C. Vitkun, K. Matthews and B. Donovan. Nay 0.
OTHER BUSINESS
Comprehensive Master Plan
- Final survey is completed and is ready for print.
- 2 surveys will go to each household, along with a cover letter and a self addressed return envelope.
- Return envelope will indicate what zone it is being returned from.
New Code Enforcement Car bids
- Need 2 more written bids.
- Make sure Public Safety Supervisor is involved in the recommendation.
- Obtain information on the car warranty.
- Maybe in the future we can lease a car instead of buying.
Website update-bids
- Stafford Associates Computer Specialist, Inc. bid was very expensive and confusing.
- We can have Maureen Kirk take care of making changes to the website with Christine Vitkun overseeing the changes.
- Change download tab to forms, change e-codes to reflect Village Laws.
- The calendar needs to be updated to reflect the current year.
- Annual Stormwater Report needs to be placed on the website. C. Lane to contact Nelson and Pope to see if they have sent the PDF file to Stafford Associates.
Trustee K. Matthews is to have weekly conversations with Kent Valadez of Pristine Property Care LTD to make sure everything is being completed as per our contract.
The garbage receptacle on Van Brunt Manor Road has been moved to behind the fence and to a different location.
New Business

Drains: R. Parrish is still investigating the possibility of a double billing for cleaning the catch basin at California Park.
Roads: L. Mitchell is obtaining quotes to repair the potholes and the possible paving of White Pine Lane from Osprey Lane to Van Brunt Manor Road then to Shore Road.
P. Sverd Village Attorney is to prepare a generic contract that could be given to contractors when they are bidding or submitting a quote for work in the Village. This generic contract will give the contractor an idea of what will be in the final contract should they win the bid.
The Clerk is to contact Verizon and let them know that if the hole on Osprey Lane is not repaired the Village will repair the damage and pursue the cost from the bond we are holding.
Permits: No new permit requests.
Resident Comments:
- Resident: Is there any chance the that overgrown brush and the dead tree at California Park can be removed? Response: We will contact the necessary contractor to remove the brush and the dead tree.

- Auctions International
- Census Bureau
- Suffolk County-Grants.
The Clerk to see if there is any S.A.R.A. grants available.
The Mayor requested approval of appointment of Ronald Lavita as Acting Justice.
