MINUTES OF THE JULY 6, 2009 MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF POQUOTT HELD AT VILLAGE HALL AT 8:00 P.M.

Present was Mayor Barbara Donovan, Trustee Carol Lane, Sandy Nicoletti, ChristineVitkun and Kathleen Matthews.  In addition there were 2 Residents.

A motion was made by C. Lane seconded by S. Nicoletti to pay bills totaling $24,525.31, $88.00 and $50.00.  Aye C. Lane, S. Nicoletti, C. Vitkun, K. Matthews and B. Donovan.  Nay 0.

A motion was made by C. Lane seconded by S. Nicoletti that the Village of Poquott will be the lead agency for our Flood Damage Prevention Law.  Aye C. Lane, S. Nicoletti, C. Vitkun, K. Matthews and B. Donovan.  Nay 0.

Other Business:

• California Park:  The shower and other plumbing repairs have been completed.
• California Park:  Instead of a hedge to replace the dead Rose of Sharons at the ball field, we could possibly place large rocks or a split rail fence.  Charlie will obtain a price for the split rail fence.  C. Lane to meet with V. Aronson to go over suggestions for the plantings at the park.
• Comprehensive Master Plan:  Nothing new.  C. Lane and B. Donovan to meet Roger Flood before the next meeting.
• Dyers Ct:  The project is completed.
• Van Brunt Manor Walkway:  On hold.
• Walnut Beach-Steve’s Path:  Pristine Property Care needs to cut back the vegetation.   In addition the steps need to be back filled.
• Pot Hole Repair:  Nothing new.
• Handyman Assignment Update:   The stop sign at California Park needs to be replaced.  The white posts on Washington Street across from Singingwood Lane need repairs.
• Pristine Property Care:  B. Donovan and E.  Donovan met with Kent Valadez to review existing contract and what has not been completed as to contract specifications.

New Business

• The Jeep is in need of 4 tires.  The Clerk’s office is to obtain quotes.
• A motion was made by C. Lane seconded by S. Nicoletti to pay bills totaling $24,525.31, $88.00 and $50.00.  Aye C. Lane, K. Matthews, S. Nicoletti C. Vitkun and B. Donovan.  Nay 0.
• Public Safety has obtain information on a replacement vehicle:  Tabled
• Flood Damage Prevention Law:  Public hearing to be scheduled for 8/13/09.
• A motion was made by C. Lane seconded by S. Nicoletti that the Village of Poquott will be the lead agency for our Flood Damage Prevention Law.  Aye C. Lane, S. Nicoletti, K. Matthews C. Vitkun and B. Donovan. Nay 0.

Permits-No new permits
Correspondence:

• NYCOM:  Summer training school for the Planning Board members and ZBA members is being held on July 21, 2009 at Islip Town Hall.
• Kristen Turner is available to do a free 45 minute seminar regarding doing background checks for new hires.
