Other Business
Boat Ramp:  B. Donovan met with C. Voorhis from Nelson and Pope regarding the problem with the sand washing up on the boat ramp.  An installation of a wing wall, could prevent the sand from washing up on the ramp, but prior to installation we would need to obtain approval from the DEC, Town of Brookhaven and Army Corp of Engineers.  This could take up to 18 months for approval.  In the meantime we could remove the rocks from the sides of the ramp and place them in front of the boat racks.  This should keep the natural flow of the water and reduce the sand on the ramp. In addition, this boat ramp was designed for boats up to 22 feet.  C. Voorhis is to prepare verbiage for a sign that indicates this information.
B. Donovan also met with Kent Valdez from Pristine Property Care Ltd regarding cleaning the sand off the ramp.
Stormwater Annual Report:  A public hearing is scheduled for May 28, 2009.
Comprehensive Master Plan:  Held their first meeting.  All three districts are represented.  Attendees included R. Flood, C. Lane, C. Greene, L. Long, and J. Zanger and Jim Rhatigan.
Dyers Court:  The contract has been faxed to A & J Antorino, Co. Inc.
Van Brunt Manor Walkway:  The cost of 6 yards of Pea Gravel delivered is $259.00.  Brick sand may work better.  We need to get a price of 4 and 6 yards of brick sand.
Pothole Repair:  L. Mitchell has called the Town of Brookhaven about the potholes in the Village.  The Clerk’s office needs to make a follow up call.
Clerk’s office is to call the Town of Brookhaven to see what the cost would be to sweep the Village roads again.  Also the Clerk’s office is to obtain a quote from the outside company recommended from the Village of Port Jefferson.
Fax Machine:  Our current fax machine is not working properly and we have been informed that faxes that were sent, were never received in the Village.  We can obtain a new fax machine for $180.00.  The new fax machine was budgeted in the 2009/2010 fiscal year.  If we order the machine now we will be billed in the upcoming fiscal year.
Village Hall Mural:  One more call needs to be placed to the artist who started the mural at Village Hall to give her the opportunity to finish.  If she does not respond another artists will be asked to finish the mural.
