MINUTESOF THE JULY 12, 2007 BUSINESS MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF POQUOTT HELD AT 7:00 P.M. AT VILLAGE HALL
Present Mayor Barbara Donovan, Trustees Carol Castillo, Carol Lane, Sandra Nicoletti, Christine Vitkun, also present Village Attorney Peter Sverd and 8 spectators.

The Clerk opened the bids for the California Park project;
1) Bove Industries-                                         $609,995.00
2) D.F.Stone-                                                  $509,995.00
3) Watral Bros.-                                              $687,100.00
4) Amma Construction-                                 $598,335.00
5) Galvin Bros. Construction-                        $555,375.00
6) Bicounty Construction-                             $628,770.00

OLD BUSINESS

  1. LIPA- review of the July 10, 2007 meeting and discussion. Two items covered in detail at the meeting were the funding for the Village Hall renovation - a 50/50 split. And the conservation easement metes and bounds needed for filing the conservation easement deed.
  2. BEACH PERMIT- discussion on whether to go to a beach association format which would greatly decrease the requirements from the municipal beach requirements. Research continues into this aspect.
  3. ROADS- after discussion the Board determined that the Mayor and Trustee for Roads would meet with the residents of Maybeck Dr. to discuss the situation.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. BUILDING DEPT.—discussion on the formation and format for the department as outlined in the Mayors prepared plan.
  2. MAILBOXES- notice to residents/carter need to be done ASAP to eliminate mail delivery problems.

PERMITS
4 Indian Valley—summons or stop work order discussed.

PUBLIC COMMENTS

  1. Resident—recent fire on VanBrunt Manor Beach could have resulted in a loss to homeowner. Res.:  the Public Safety officers will patrol after midnight and hopefully end the problem.

The meeting adjourned at 9:20 P.M. on a motion by C. Lane.
