MAY 24, 2007 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF POQUOTT HELD AT 7:00 P.M. AT VILLAGE HALL
Present Mayor Barbara Donovan, Carol Castillo, Carol Lane, Sandra Nicoletti, Christine Vitkun, also present Village Attorney Peter Sverd, and 5 residents.
Minutes of the April 12, 2007 meeting were approved as corrected on a motion by C. Castillo, second by C. Lane, Aye C. Castillo, C. Lane, S. Nicoletti, C. Vitkun, B. Donovan, Nay 0.

Ted Masters informed the Board that he had asked for other quotes to repair the Trustees Park water fountain and obtained a lower price then the previous quote. Also the check valve for the water line at Walnut Park needed to be installed and he had a quote for the work.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS, COMMISSIONERS AND COMMITTEES
TREASURERS REPORT
J. Lane reviewed the Balance sheet and the Income/Expense report with the Board. After discussion the report was accepted as given on a motion by C. Lane, seconded by C. Castillo, Aye C. Castillo, C. Lane, S. Nicoletti, C. Vitkun, B. Donovan, Nay 0.
CAROL CASTILLO- Trustee for Roads, Roadsides and Parks.
- Parks- the carting company has neglected to empty the cans at the parks regularly.
- Roads- the Sharon Ave. & Maybeck Dr. problem was reviewed by J. Evans.

CHRISTINE VITKUN- Trustee for Finance, Village Hall and Waste Management
- Website- the Village needs the code for the computer to have the ability to make announcements and update ourselves.
- General Code—process almost complete; disks and code books should arrive in June.
Comments- none
CAROL LANE- Trustees for Environment and Shore Lines
- Storm Water Phase II- annual report preparation under way.
- Harbor Commission—J. Lane reported that a meeting was held on May 21, 2007. The toilet and shower facilities at the Harbormasters offices will be completed soon. Pump out boats will be delivered soon.

SANDRA NICOLETTI- Trustee for Public Safety & VanBrunt Manor Beach
- Public Safety- meeting held May 23, 2007. A training program to standardize operations is being prepared and will be implemented soon.
- VanBrunt Manor Beach—abandoned clam boat removed by the Town.
Comments- none
ATTORNEY- the bid package for California Park is complete and notice to bidders will be published in the Times Beacon.
PLANNING BOARD- next meeting June 13, 2007
ZBA- 2 new appointees needed
PERMITS- permit application pending for 6 Singingwood. Height question raised on 47 Chestnut construction – will be referred to Building Inspector.
OTHER BUSINESS
- BEACH—water testing being done. Permit application will be done for Walnut Beach only.
- Village Hall- after discussion the Board asked the Clerk to have an engineering report done to answer the question of whether renovation of existing building is feasible or a new building is the better option.
- Washington Street drains—specs due from engineers.
- Dog bite incident—the hospital will not release any information on a specific patient. It was suggested that the Board of Health may have the information needed.
- Spring Cleanup—date set for 6/3/2007- motion to authorize expenditure of $150.00 for supplies was made by C. Castillo, seconded by C. Lane, Aye C. Castillo, C. Lane, S. Nicoletti, C. Vitkun, B. Donovan, Nay 0.
NEW BUSINESS
- The Clerk requested permission to replace the five existing filing cabinets with four new lockable cabinets at a cost of approx. $760.00. Approved on a motion by C. Castillo, seconded by S. Nicoletti, Aye C. Castillo, C. Lane, S. Nicoletti, C. Vitkun, B. Donovan, Nay 0. The Clerk was asked to update the microfilm /imaging of records from the date performed to present.

A motion to enter executive session to discuss the Verizon Franchise was made by C. Castillo, seconded by S. Nicoletti. The executive session was closed on a motion by C. Lane
