MAY 10, 2007 MINUTES OF THE BUSINESS MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF POQUOTT HELD AT 7:00 P.M. AT VILLAGE HALL
Present Mayor Barbara Donovan, Trustees Carol Castillo, Carol Lane, Christine Vitkun, absent Trustee Sandra Nicoletti, also Present Village Attorney Peter Sverd and 3 residents.
OTHER BUSINESS
- INVESTMENT POLICY-still under review.
- BELGIAN BLOCK- still underway.
- BROADWATER- session attended by resident.
- WASHINGTON STREET-
Drains—engineers preparing specs. and plans for bid package.
Curbing- discussion on length ended with decision to go from Rt25A down to Birchwood Ave. if possible.
- CALIFORNIA PARK- approvals still pending.
- POTHOLES- pending town work crews.
- DOGS- research position with Brookhaven Animal Control on hazardous dogs.
- UTILITY BOX- Singingwood Lane utility box smashed in. Clerk will investigate.
NEW BUSINESS
- SPRING CLEANUP—date still undetermined.
- STORM WATER PHASE II—annual report due, engineer will be contacted re; completion.
- NEWSLETTER—additional input needed to complete this issue.
SPECIAL EVENT PERMITS
- Wuertz—approved-applicant will be notified re; cleanup and only 10 cars allowed at the park.
- Thayer—approved.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
1)Damage by snow plows to the SE corner of Highview and VanBrunt.
2) Remove sand barrels.
3) Cones needed for puddle on Washington Street.
4) Steve’s Path- report sent to Drains Commissioner.
5) Speed limit sign on Washington tilted.
6) A dinghy is locked to the California Park Boat rack, but it is on the beach not the rack.
7) Attorney—letter to Keyspan/ LIPA re: village position on easement discussed. Will be sent by Attorney.
The meeting adjourned at 8:40 P.M. on a motion by C. Lane.
