  Meeting Minutes Detail

MINUTES OF THE JANUARY 13,2005 MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF POQUOTT HELD AT VILLAGE HALL AT 7:00 P.M.

Present Mayor Barbara Donovan, Trustees Carol Castillo, Sandra Nicoletti, Christine Vitkun, absent Trustee Stephen Matthews, Also present six residents.

The Mayor proposed that the Village hire the firm of Sarisohn, Sarisohn, Carner, LeBow, Braun and Shiebler as Village Attorneys. A motion to hire was made by C. Castillo, seconded by S. Nicoletti, Aye C. Castillo, S. Nicoletti, C. Vitkun, B. Donovan, Nay 0.

 

BUDGET DISCUSSION

  • Handyman—Recommendation by L. Mitchell, hourly basis, all work by work order coordinated through Village Clerks office.
  • Public Safety—a) Need maintenance schedule dollar amount for budget.

b) Need maintenance costs for 2004-2005 dollars for budget.

c) Need extraordinary cost dollars amount.

3) Drains—discussion on cost and schedules.

 

OTHER BUSINESS

  • LIPA Settlement—discussion on terms of settlement and options open to the Board. After discussion the Board determined that it was out of options and needed to amend the agreement for presentation back to LIPA/Keyspan. Another meeting was scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Jan. 17 to amend the agreement. The Board passed a resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign the amended agreement after LIPA/Keyspan makes the changes required by the board on a motion by C. Castillo, seconded by S. Nicoletti , Aye C. Castillo, S. Nicoletti, C. Vitkun. Nay 0.
  • Storm Water Phase II and the Harbor Erosion Grant—the Mayor recapped the series of meetings between the Marine Sciences group, the Village Engineer and the Environmental Commissioner on the projects. As Storm Water II planning will now have to dovetail into the erosion planning a joint workup by the Village Engineer and Marine Sciences will be done to prepare plans for both projects as one unit.

 

COMMENTS

  • Resident—several rails were broken on the fencing along VanBrunt Manor Road & Shore Road . Volunteers will utilize the extra rails from the rework of that fencing to repair the damaged rails.

 

The meeting adjourned at 9:05 P.M. on a motion by C. Castillo.
