OCTOBER 12, 2006 MINUTES OF THE BUSINESS MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF POQUOTT HELD AT 7:00 P.M. AT VILLAGE HALL
Present Mayor Barbara Donovan, Trustees Carol Castillo, Carol Lane, Sandra Nicoletti, Christine Vitkun, also present Village Attorney Peter Sverd and 3 residents.
The meeting opened with a discussion with Carrie O’ Farrell of Nelson Pope & Voorhis regarding the Storm Water Phase II annual report. The clerk was asked to forward several items to C. O’Farrell for the annual report. The report will be prepared and a public hearing held on November 16, 2006 for resident input.
NEW BUSINESS
- Verizon—draft of franchise agreement has been reviewed by the Village Attorney. Research into the process indicates that public hearings must be held to assess resident input.
- Shared Grant—Mayor Donovan reviewed the GPS & Mapping shared grant proposal with the Board. The village would pay out approx. $550.00 as its part and the rest would be shared by the Town and the other villages as well as the state. A resolution to authorize the village to enter into a shared grant program with the Town of Brookhaven was made on a motion by C. Lane, seconded by C. Castillo, Aye—C. Castillo, C. Lane, S. Nicoletti, C. Vitkun, B. Donovan, Nay 0.
- Coastal Steward— J. Lane will take this on and attend whatever meetings are necessary.
OLD BUSINESS
- Municipal Clerks Assoc.—both the clerk and deputy clerk have joined the organization.
- Road Striping—letter to Town has been sent re; striping of Washington and VanBrunt Manor road. Also a list of stop line bars needed was sent to the Town.
- Long Island North Shore Heritage—organization has determined that not all villages need to sign on to this. They will file with the state.
PERMITS
The clerk reported that the building permits pending the ZBA approval have been issued after the variances were approved.

PUBLIC COMMENTS
- Resident—the “no dogs allowed” signs are still missing from VanBrunt Manor beach .—Ans.handyman will be contacted.
- Resident—derelict boats were removed from Setauket Harbor.
- Treasurer—can the village authorize the Treasurers membership in the Treasures Assoc. at a cost of $35.00. Ans. Yes. The clerk will get the check for membership prepared by the Bookkeeper.
The meeting adjourned at 9:15 P.M. on a motion by C. Lane.
