MINUTES OF THE JULY 13, 2006 BUSINESS MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF POQUOTT
Present Mayor Barbara Donovan, Trustees Carol Castillo, Carol Lane. Sandra Nicoletti, Christine Vitkun, Village Attorney Peter Sverd and 3 residents
OTHER BUSINESS
- 75 th anniversary—discussion on renting a tent or hiring a DJ—
- Public Safety—digital monitoring security cameras will cost $189 for the first unit and $100 per unit thereafter. The new telephone system has been ordered from Verizon and the switch will be made from Nextel soon. The Clerk’s office will issue parking passes for visitors/events. Evaluations must be done on all officers.
- 6 Washington—a draft letter will be composed and sent for review to the Board before final letter is sent to resident.
- “No Sign”—handyman will fix as soon as possible.
- Silver Beech sinkhole—Keyspan has done work and temp patch has sunk. Clerk will contact Keyspan.
NEW BUSINESS
- Drains—after discussion on the price quotes received by the Commissioner, the Board chose RGM as contractor.
- Village Hall – only one bid received so far; two more on the way.
- Accessory Apts.—discussion.
- LIPA/Keyspan—extend lighting to Silver Beech.
- Harassment Procedure—discussion on enactment of resolution.
PERMITS
18 Maple Ave. still pending, 6 Singingwood Lane needs variance, Maybeck Dr. at Engineers for review, 19 Birchwood Ave.under review.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
- Resident—Why must the Village do evaluations of Public Safety Officers? Ans. need it for auditors.
- Resident--Insurance costs are less than anticipated meaning that a surplus in the category may be moved later.
- Resident—any letters to residents posted on personal property or bulletin boards should be signed.
- Resident—a rake was stolen from Van Brunt Manor Beach.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 P.M. on a motion by C. Vitkun.
