MINUTES OF THE MAY 25, 2006 MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF POQUOTT HELD AT 7:00 P.M. AT VILLAGE HALL.
Present Mayor Barbara Donovan, Trustees Carol Castillo, Carol Lane, Sandra Nicoletti, Christine Vitkun, also present Village Attorney Peter Sverd and 2 residents.

REPORT OF OFFICERS, COMMISSIONERS AND COMMITTEES
CAROL CASTILLO—Trustee for roads, roadsides and parks
ROADS—potholes will be filled by the Town the last week in May. The striping question will be raised with the Town (center striping).
SIGNS—the “No “sign erroneously installed on VanBrunt instead of Shore Road.” No dogs on Beach” signs needed.
PARKS—D.E.C. permits have arrived (sand for California Park).
Trustees—tennis court repairs completed by contractor.
Walnut—commissioner has looked over the beach and should be okay for this year.
COMMENTS
1) Resident—can the Village clip the west side of VanBrunt Manor?
CHRISTINE VITKUN-- Trustee for Finance, Village Hall & Waste Management
WASTE MANAGEMENT—the Maggio contract to be signed for the new three year contract.
WEBSITE —Calendar will be updated—newsletter will be incorporated into the website.
COMMENTS—none.
CAROL LANE—Trustee for Environment & Shore Lines
HARBOR & MOORINGS—next meeting will be 6/13.
VANBRUNT GRANT—recent revision by D.O.T needs to be addressed to redirect funding correctly.
COMMENTS
- Resident—the drain in front of 64 VanBrunt is overgrown.
SANDRA NICOLETTI—Trustee for Public Safety & VanBrunt Manor Beach
PUBLIC SAFETY—recent vandalism has necessitated upgrade in coverage.
EMERGENCY PREPARDNESS—drill plans are still being formulated.
VANBRUNT MANOR BEACH—still some stickers missing from dinghies.
COMMENTS
- Resident—Phragmites don’t appear to be growing back in the area where the kids trampled them.
Planning Board—next meeting June 14.
Zoning Board of Appeals—next meeting June 21.
NEW BUSINESS
- A resident may donate some saplings for planting by the Village.
- The 75 th anniversary will be combined with the Civic Assoc. Fish Fry.
- NYCOM conference being held June 11 through June 14. A motion to approve the attendance of the Mayor and Trustee Nicoletti at the NYCOM conference was made by C. Lane, seconded by C. Castillo, Aye C. Castillo, C. Lane, S. Nicoletti, C. Vitkun, B.Donovan, Nay 0.
- A motion to allow the Clerk to advertise for bids for the Village Hall renovations was made by C.Lane, seconded by C. Castillo, Aye, C. Castillo, C. Lane, S. Nicoletti, C. Vitkun, B. Donovan Nay 0.
COMMENTS
- Resident—re; the fence on 6 Washington Street / right of way encroachment. The resident suggested a compromise of installing fir trees to replace the fencing with the fencing to be placed further down on the owners property.
